The Exhaustion Sets In – But At Least I Got Some Words Out

today and yesterday, in brief

After a successful day at the prefecture with an easy renewal of my residency card (though for less years than I anticipated — which is fine, as I intend to get nationality shortly), I finally have a chance to sit at the laptop at 15h. We (R and myself) are both very exhausted so I’m granting some early screentime and I’m getting a little writing in before I have nothing left in me to give (I will definitely fall asleep alongside the crib when putting him to bed, this evening).

Yesterday, we went to the Salon du Livres and it was like a giant room with numerous book shop stands, and multiple author booths for signings – but it was so packed with people, particularly school children, and I was immensely overwhelmed. It was hard to enjoy when I had such an energy overload in the place. And, despite Switzerland being a very multicultural country, there was only one English book booth. One! Thankfully, the sales at this booth were quire impressive, so I got a few new books for myself and the little and have a few regrets of rushing through it (energy thing). I also handed a few remaining signed copies of my books to strangers and hid them around the exposition space.

I genuinely do not have the mental capacity to write about the next piece of my journaling advice focus that I began yesterday, so I’ll save that glorious information for tomorrow when I can give all myself to you, dear mama reader.

At least I wrote! That’s a win.

xx C
